AON is the largest group of Insurance Brokers in the world.

We have several substantial installations within this client, all with individual functionality but also offering a common connectivity --- allowing generic reports.

TranSearch® controls the following functions:-

• Postroom/Post-Linking
• Files Request/Deliveries (4 Departments)
• In House / Off-Site Archiving
• Off-Site Broking
• The post-linking function, (i.e) linking post to files which are away from central filing, was a bespoke addition as was "Off-Site Broking".

Screen Design

There are probably 100+ different screen designs within the many departments of AON using TranSearch®.

The system was originally installed to assist in implementing a "clear desk" policy within AON by clearing all files to an "out-source" off-site Archive and calling for files as needed.

We interface with the third party Archivists, allowing "on line" ordering both on and off-site.

These initial screen designs were therefore primarily dealing with "pick", "put away" and other related file warehousing functionality. AON use random storage methods via TranSearch.

Data Capture

With this particular client, a whole myriad of data collection methods are used.

Probably the most interesting was introduced following the request by the "Broking Department/Re-Insurance" to use the system when visiting other Brokers off-site.

In many cases, AON Brokers took their files with them, leaving them with the off-site Brokers to quote upon.

We introduced tiny battery operated pocketsize scanners. Brokers now keep a standard pocket book list of Third Party Brokers with a unique Bar-Code relating to each alongside.

The AON Broker scans the file's Bar-Code to the Third Party Broker (location) Bar-Code as files are passed across, downloading the information to TranSearch upon return.

Reports

Again a whole range of individual reports have been set up - both Departmental and Generic, allowing management to control their paperwork and monitor staff efficiency and levels of competence.
